Re: 2005 GLX 2.8L turbo diesel triton rattle

Mine does it when cold I generally just use the hand throttle to idle it up for a few minutes. You can usually hear it click over and then it idles up when warm. I know hiluxes etc are also the same.

Re: diesel complete exhaust

Dump would certainly be worthwhile and I have been thinking about it for some time - larger dump pipe off the turbo and back a decent distance even in the short term. At the end of the day this is where gasses are the hottest and need the extra room and its not like the diesels rev hard so need the ...

Re: 355 V8 Cooling options (yes I searched)

I cannot see why a normal clutch fan or flex fan cannot be used because of the heads?? I mean even the efi 304's run clutch fans.

Anyway. If you remove the thermostat completely that could be causing the water to flow too fast and not cool down. You should at least put the housing back in with the ...

After some more searching I have finally found this image:

It would appear the casting replaces the factory part but if someone can confirm that would be great.

Also from my research, most people silicone up the ...

I am trying to fit a snorkel to my NJ 2.8 which appears to be a Safari SS25HF copy but dont have instructions

Quadies are a good carbie when set up right and compared to a Holley don't need adjusting as much.

They also have smallish primaries making them ok for economy with large secondaries for when you need the juice.

Edit - these days I would go injection. Its very easy to set up and if you are already ...

This is the standard power steer setup for an early 308 Commy.

Power steer on the passenger side. Factory AC bracket to drivers side. Alt mounts under in this case.

Slight lift, ARB bar. I just fitted the STT's and winch. Really just need to get a snorkel now.

Agree with Mick especially on number 2 I probably could have worded that a bit better - depends on how much detail you go into.

A 40 grit flap disk works well for roughing up bare metal ready for fibre fill - also good for finishing off welds etc while you are at it.

Hey mate. To answer your questions:

1) You need to etch bare metal before priming. Make sure to give it a good buzz (sand) to get rid of any surafce rust. I usually just go over in 120 from memory using an ordital sander.

2) Yeah you always get mixed reviews for this one. I have always body filled ...

when i was shopping for a UHF i ended up buying a good 3w GME handheld... there was no need for an in-car unit (especially driving a soft top). The handheld covers a HUGE range and last ages between re-charging.

Unless your doing a lot of touring I cant really see the value in diesel gas at present.

I get just under 1000km highway driving and average about 800km to a tank around town. I know it could be a tad better with an injector service and tune as it does blow a bit of diesel smoke.

The problem I see ...

Oil Pressure Guage - or oil pressure problem 2.8 td

Guys I have just noticed a strange problem in that the paj appears to be dropping pressure according to the guage.

Never seemed to do it until yesterday. Essentially it sits on the normal 80-90 pounds at idle - upon driving the guage gradually drops itself down to -30 pounds and less.

The oil is ...
