Don't worry about Bruce. He gets his exercise from jumping..... to conclusions. And running.... Off at the mouth.

Re: what chainsaw to buy for camping & 4WD trips
all you big brang blokes aren't going to like this but I brought a chainsaw from Bunnings for $135.00 and it's f'ing great for camping. it's an ozito petrol saw with a 12" bar, I find it to be big enough for any log that I will be able to lift onto the fire. With everything else you have to take ...

Re: ERPS wiring
I installed an older single wire model not long ago. all the pads had 2 wires to go from one pad to the next. but the end pad in the kit just has a single wire to it, as it doesn't need to loop back. you could purchase a single wire pad or as others have said just insulate the end wire and leave it ...

Re: Wheel bearing help
the bearing with the spacer built into the inner race is an 'update'. either bearing will work but if using the old style you NEED to have the separate spacer. dimensionally the bearings are the same except for the length of the inner race. they are both as good as each other, just one has the ...

put the new needle and seat in and reset the float height as per the manual (44.5 - 46.5mm measured at 10 mm in from outer edge of float (on bottom) to float chamber sealing face (gasket removed)). Take the needle and seat into any carby specialist and they should be able to match it up. Im pretty ...

im gueessing your zook is a hard top. if it were a soft top you could simply fold down the windscreen. It is unlikely to be the wiper motor that is the problem. more likely that is the plastic bushes in the wiper arm linkages. If you happen to find a place that sells just the plastic bushes let me ...

you HAVE to know what pressures your running before you start. doesnt everybody do this before letting air out?? exactly my point, you need to know your pressure before you know how much to let out. thus using a ferret you would have to use a separate gauge first, then deflate, then use gauge again ...

Another drawback with the ferret that I see is, what if a tyre is a little bit flat before you start, you don't realise, by the time its deflated as per normal counting procedure it could be low to the point of blowing a bead when offroading. you HAVE to know what pressures your running before you ...

a winch is definately a better option if you plan on going bush alone. but make sure you have all the gear to go with it (extension straps, tree trunk protectors, snatch block, shackles, dampner etc.) and make sure you know how to use them before you go bush. A locker is great in the fact that it ...

I think the location of Janowen, that one particular valley surrounded by big hills means they are either protected a bit or they cop heaps. If Jan is happy to go ahead I guess that would mean a very good chance of an event this weekend. Wait and hear back from the TT boys then. Nar, my $$ is on a ...

of course the organisers are going to do their best to make the event go ahead, and in doing so it would have to be a last minute decision to call it off due to bad weather. unless they have a solid week of torrential rain out there they're just not going to know until last minute. whats happenning ...

the standard bolts are too short once a body lift is installed. to cutout the old ones to fit longer bolts is rough and dodgy. you can buy a 'female bolt' to make up for the extra length needed when doing a body lift. just cruisin' sells body lift kits and will be able to help you with the female ...

can probably get away with 150psi. but you shouldn't need to go any more than 100psi. you should have a pressure switch on your compressor (off at 100, on at 70) you should also have a pressure relief valve in the tank, all pressure vessels should have one. If your pressure switch is set for off at ...

TJM Coopers Plains have 60lt evercools on special. I take it the new style are the plastic ones, like the waeco. the fibreglass ones have much better insulation and therefore draw less power, but they run the same compressor. (same compressor as waeco's too). the fibreglass model has a removable ...
