Re: Snorkle Mounted Air Filters.

I'm hoping to keep the airbox I have but once I get the intercooler in there I may need to run the snorkle mounted type. I want to run either a 450/500/600 x 300 x 76 top mounted & when I turn the compressor housing I reckon I will be running short of room. http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii35 ...

I ran a k&n on top of my 4" snorkel. It was tapered, I can find the part no if you want
It will be both as it gets driven around regularly.

I found a K&N RD1460 that looks like it will do the job, just worried about the filtration qualities it has.

Found this fella. Reckon it would be suitable?

I will make a shield for it to keep the rain/weather off.

Still open to other ideas though....

Snorkle Mounted Air Filters.

Looking to free up some room in the engine bay & wanted to mount a filter to the top of my 4" stainless snorkle. It's on a comp truck so will need to be of a good quality. Any pics or part nos, etc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jaz.

G'Day All, I have a 4.6mt ally runabout that I want to tidy up a bit before I sell it. At the moment it is just plain old weathered ally that has never seen paint. Just wanting to know if there is a paint/product (in white) out there I can spray or roll straight over the hull with minimal ...

Re: Securing Synthetic Rope to Drum.

From what I've observed crimp on eyelets are next to useless with synthetic rope. That's what I would have thought as the wraps around the drum do most of the securing. How about though, drill the end out of a lug then run the rope through it doubled-up? If there was any load to go onto the lug ...

Securing Synthetic Rope to Drum.

G'Day All, Just wondering what is the best way to secure synthetic rope to a hi mount drum. Do you crimp on a ferrule the same as steel rope, pass the rope through the hole & let the wraps of rope around the drum do the job, or a combination of both? Why I ask is that I have found 50mts of 12mm ...

My VDJ79 did a lot of towing from new & got driven normal to hard the whole time. Got around 17lts/100k up until 50k (also on 35s with a 5" lift) then dropped to around 13lts/100k (33s with a 2" lift), gearbox also freed up around this time. Uses no more than 1 lt of oil in 10k service interval ...

Roller nose bars do tend to split if you don't do the right thing by them, stick with a solid (bull nose) bar, you can keep them tidy a lot easier & they are more reliable.

Most important, do a course in chainsaw usage. They don't cut you, they remove flesh from your body when they bite. Get some cut-proof trousers as a minimum & learn how to sharpen it properly as the rakers aren't always your friend. Have seen lots of horrific injuries, even by very experienced ...
