i'd suggest that for an off road product - warranty is always going to be difficult for the manufacturer and purhaser. I agree completely but the information is interesting. The fact they do offer a warrenty for units they install does indicate a level of confidence in the strength which is ...

Kay, Going back to the Toyota light duty axles I have some spare half shafts (front) for the ones I have in my garage and thought I would compare this to the Daihatsu ones. The Daihatsu one is actually a bigger diameter which suprised me. In the photo below the Daihatsu one is on the left. http ...

Interesting pictures, I had been wondering if I could get a solenoid from Kam diffs (http://www.kamdiffs.com/diff_lock.htm) to do the same as your air cylinder. The system they offer for Land Rovers and Suzukis is similar but everything is inside the diff housing (after modification to the casing).

In the UK they are just refered to by the numbers, ie F50, in most of mainland europe they are a Daihatsu Taft and in Germany they are Wildcats. Certainly in the UK I think you may struggle to find the parts you want, while we have got a lot of Fourtraks (Rockys) and Sportraks (Feroza) the older ...

They dont have a divorced case, but the Rocky transmission is basically the same so you may be able to use the transfer from one of those. If not I believe that a whole Rocky gearbox and transfer case can be bolted straight up to the bellhousing on the F50 engine.

The main attraction of the maxxis was they are the cheapest of the 'big' tyres available in the UK by some margin, Claws are twice the price for a similar size. I like the look of the stauns and they are eventually what I would like to run in combination with something like maxxis mudzillas or similar. I don't know how the price compares with those in Australia but they end up about 120 pounds each in the UK.

That was the theory I was working on. A friend of mine has gone in the other direction with a set of Landcruiser steels with weld on beadlocks. Once he has got the tyres on a single wheel/tyre combination weighs somewhere in the region of 70-80kg :!:
