first thing to check is the sliding spline in the tailshaft (check the unies whileyour there for play)

Mate of mine has a gu factory turbo 4.2 tray back , it has been loosing power for awhile now to the point that it is two gears lower to get up the same hill all the filters have been changed with no change in power
while writing this i just had a idear dose this motor ...

I had the same problem in my L28 MQ, after lotsa searching on the net i found the fix.

On ya carby there (on mine anyway) there's a rubber grommet/plug, pop it off and you will see a small grub screw, unwind this.
I had to unwind mine almost 4 full turns before i got it to idle properly.

IF you have a black rubber plug in the side of the carby about the size of a 10 cent piece pull this out and turne the screw (carnt rember wich way ) count the turns in case you stuff up and it should bring the revs down quicker

do you think the hawse fairlead is better than the roller type as i was thinking of changing the roller type one on mine

i had a weied noise in thr front of mine but only on hot days turned out to be the stabliser bar sticking in the rubber mount on the radius arm .
or could be the body mount rubber mount stuffed

some times if the left side window motor wont work from the left side switch the problem can be dirty contacts in the left switch on the drivers side main control panel silly i know but it happend to me .
also you can take the motor out of the back door and fit it in the front just to check if its ...

check your passenger side engine mount, if its a 95 model the mount would prolly be at the end of its life span. The rubber tears, but the motor is held fast in position by the design of the mount, and the noise you can hear is the safety catch built into the design. Replace it with a genuine mount ...

i know what you mean what a prick of a thing to get at i use to have to take mine of put a long grease nippel in grease it and then put the old one back in if i left the long one in it would snap it of when it got on a angle but i fixed the problem i bought a gq

if it jams with the spacers in it must be hitting on something climb under and check it out or a linkage is jaming on something or going over center just a thought
