I had the same problem in my L28 MQ, after lotsa searching on the net i found the fix.

On ya carby there (on mine anyway) there's a rubber grommet/plug, pop it off and you will see a small grub screw, unwind this.
I had to unwind mine almost 4 full turns before i got it to idle properly.

IF you have a black rubber plug in the side of the carby about the size of a 10 cent piece pull this out and turne the screw (carnt rember wich way ) count the turns in case you stuff up and it should bring the revs down quicker :armsup:

check your passenger side engine mount, if its a 95 model the mount would prolly be at the end of its life span. The rubber tears, but the motor is held fast in position by the design of the mount, and the noise you can hear is the safety catch built into the design. Replace it with a genuine mount ...

You said you can buy the H4 kit for less than or same as sealed beam units. Please Explain... A decent set of globes is about $25 - $30 a pair and the lights are about $17 ea. That's over $60 from where I am standing, and I can get sealed units for as little as $17 ea, albeit 55w/60w ...

I have a 99 GU Patrol, It has a heat button just to the right of the steering wheel, i know its used to heat up the engine on cold starts. However, i was more interested on how it actually does this, does it just increase the revs, or is there a type of heater...etc...
