it dosnt matter what lock or even if straight .. just when its in 4x4(tansfer case engaged) it makes the noise

front end problem

my 96 swb vit is making a real ratchette type noise when it is engaged in 4x4, was thinking front diff but when i dissengage the transfer case it stops even if the hubs r still locked in would this mean more likely the tranfer case?????? im in the proces of putting new wheel bearings and cv boots on ...

welded the diff on my vit on wensday and it is amazing of road...and no where near as bad as i thought it would be on road... mine is a daily driver(by that i mean about 2 min to work) and i am lucky that i live where there is bush all around , the most i would have to drive to get to my fav tracks ...

i went with the ome lift with 30mm coil spaces all round as well( gave me a little over 2 inchs) and am running 235 75 15s no worries at all.would easy get 31s under her.. all up was about $1700. works well...

all in and working a treat.. turned out to be OEX brand. . little bit longer and narrower than the other witch made it a little bite tight getting it in there.
its got a little breather valve on the bottom off it,the others didnt?????

read some of his feedback,not good.as for suzispares not much difference in price between them and repco(buy the time i pay freight and inssurance there is $3 difference) ended up just ordering another through repco today,want the car this weekend and it will be here tomorrow.but next time.thanks

i didnt touch the solinoid when i cleaned it the other night. . .should i heve cleaned it to????? when u say a hard apoxy something like araldite?????

its a 96 swb with EFI .removed the latest one to die last night,pulled it apart and cleaned it up( as the outo elect had done for me a few months ago and charged me $150),put it back and it worked fine,started first kick thismorning when i went to work at 6 but when i got in to start it at 5 this ...

rang supercheap and repco to try and get a starter motor for my 96 model vitara one said they dont have a listing the other said that the only one i can get is a uni point one.i have been through 3 of the unipoint ones in 18 months.(over it).does any one know if i can get a bosch one from somewhere?

how hard is it to find a combo switch for a 96 vit???
local wrecker here has been trying for over a week to find me 1,had 3 in there and all the wrong type.how many are there for that model? seems to be i have an odd number of pins in the plug.

used it on the thursday to pull out of a bogg got half way through winching up a hill on the saterday went to move the cable further up the hill and it wouldnt work again(had to tap the cover with the back off a shifter to get it woking and just did one last pull to the top)and it hasnt worked since ...

just 1 more thing.... was wondering if there was any reason y i couldnt use marine grease in the bearings and is there anything i should go for inperticular when i buy fluids,as in ones that r more suited for 4 wheelers(i drive a lot of water and mud)???

it was up to my waist on the drivers side and seat level on the passenger side .it was there about 2 hrs.nice rocky stream so no mud(came out nice and clean...lol...)passenger side was ok so didnt suck any water into the air intake.clutched it and it started easy enough so was able to drive it home ...
