Sorry, had another look at the pic. that is your front diff. it looks like the boss is still in the hose and this should screw into the top of the pumpkin. have a look at the rear diff.

if its only leaking a bit of oil just replace the axel seals (inside the diff housing) that will stop the oil leak. if your getting water in the hub then replace the rest of it. good luck with it

If the car was an ex gov car it is likely to be a warn XD9000. By the looks of that winch you will need to commit to doing a rebuild on it mate.

The Pajero is a Bargain and very underrated. If you can get one with the turbo diesel you will be on a winner.

Some (if not all) will come standard with a factory centre and rear diff lock and very well appointed in the creature comfort stakes.

I have an aftermarket with a glass bowl and water separator. You can see it "drip" air into the system if it is not tight enough.
