Maybe look into getting this kit.... http://outdoorauto4x4.com/p/601217/gv-budget-suspension-lift---50mm.html Cheaper than the cheapest suspension kit and retains factory ride you also get 50mm lift as opposed to the 30-35mm most springs give you. Also factor in camber bolts and a wheel alignment as ...

Options for eliminating the GV air disconect front diff?

Hi guys, I am right in the middle of installing some 5.125 diff centers into my 99 GV. I ended up sourcing the 5.125 (41x8) diff centers out of a 2 door grand vitara... The good news is that being out of a grand vitara they drop strait in... The bad news is that the front carrier is alloy so im ...

To check for a mechanical fault such as the timing belt jumping a tooth simply use a vacuum gauge and make sure it has full manifold vacuum where you "T" it in........ It should be around 21 inhg at idle and if it is much lower then say 18 then you either have a big vacuum leak (easy to diagnose) or ...

Ok so i received my new 5.125 diff centers today. The one they sent me for the rear is VERY interesting! It is 41 tooth by 8 tooth so it is a 5.125 26 spline 12 bolt ring gear BUT its in a cast steel carrier that does not have the upper control arm mount of the older vitara? It looks just like my GV ...

Grand vitara rear brakes over adjusting automatically.

Hi guys, I've found an issue with the rear brakes on my grand vitara (99).. The rear brakes "self" adjust until the brakes actually start to drag noticeably. At first i thought it was because i have a 50mm lift in the rear and there may not have been enough slack left in the hand brake cable but i ...

There is not a lot of travel in the Grand vitara front end... What sort of lift do you have? Have you got longer struts or strut spacers to suit the 2" lift? The front sway bar actually limits the front ends ability to articulate in a cross axle situation like if the right front wheel is pushed up ...

I agree with you Steve on the merits of a body lift.

I just to not agree with the effect a body lift may impose on such a new vehicle.

If it were mine i would stick to a sensible off-the shelf lift and decent tires and drive accordingly.
