Just ordered a turbo and bits and pieces for my old mav. It's got 370 oookms on it and I'm thinking about pulling it out and giving it a freshen up before I try and throw decent amounts of boost at it.
Any thoughts or guys who have rebuilt there motors as to a ruff idea on cost. I saw on eBay ...

Re: 4" Snorkle position. Legal question.
The last truck I built up had same position although I went in at the back of the guard.
Was trying to keep it up out of the way by going down the front of the pillar and into top corner of bonnet. Haven't cut any wholes yet but.

As much as I would love to throw bulk coin at my mav the truth is I just can't afford it. How much do they hit you for the td05. I spoke to the guys at diesel central and he said I was looking at around $2800 just for the turbo. As I don't doubt you get what you pay for it just gets out of control ...

I figured department of transport would be the issue.
Thats why I asked has anyone had any problems with the coppers or department of transport.
Seems out of all the highly opinionated forum members no one has any input.

Re: GQ patrol tyre sizes.
I got aftermarket flextime flares. I wonder if a rear quarter chop would help with that cause I think the rears would be pretty hard to trim out as the wheel tub on the inside and the outer skin are joined on that lip of the guard

Dont mean to confuse you after the last reply but I did mine. Only because there was a bit of wear. it didnt cost much from memory and it gives you a bit of piece of mind when your giving it a hard time down the track.

Sounds like the go. I'm just thinking about guards and maybe bonnet. It will still be a full bodied registered wagon used for touring and weekend wheeling. The buildup will take a while as just doin it as funds allow.

Is anyone running Kevlar or fiberglass and what do u think of them. Looking at the weight reduction and also they don't rust.

Just had extractors and 2.5" exhaust fitted this week. The old exhaust must have been stuffed cause it's going heaps better now. Am getting the gas serviced and tuned this week so will run a tank thru it and see what I get this time around. I'm hoping for an improvement.
