Ive just installed a egt guage on my 4.2d with an aftermarket turbo and runs 16psi. On the highway the egt sits between 250-300 depending on hills etc, when ive been doing hill climbs and stuffing around it gets up towards the 500 mark when making it work is this an average sort of temp to expect ...

VDO Part No. for the black faced "Vision series" version is 310.159.

I bought mine on eBay from Denco for around $270 - comes complete with gauge, thermocouple, weld boss (if you need it) and 5m of compensating cable.

Do it yerself!! Get a hairdryer or heatgun and run it over the decal ( carefully! ;) ) until one end sticks up slightly. the MTQ one is cast like the OE one, I think all the others are fabricated. This may have been discussed before, but it seems that only Penrite recommends the same oil for gearbox and xfer case, which is Manual Gear Oil 80 (covers 75-W90 APIO-GL4 gear oil specs). AGIP has been around for years as gu4800 said...dunno if they do oils specifically for diesel (if that's wot you've got) but I'd reckon there's a fair chance seein' as it's Italian based stuff. Prolly half the vehicles in Italy run on diesel, like Europe in general.

Don't get too antsy about this issue guys...just because your oil light don't go out for x, y or z seconds doesn't necessarily mean your donk ain't getting its drink of oil in an appropriate way!!

Don't throw yer money away ...use it on things you could better spend it on and DIY as per GU4800's post above. I went the DIY road as per the above URL and couldn't be happier...no probs, works faultlessly, even after a fair amount of rough/corrugated travel.

Hmmm...interesting.

I use the OEM 15208-43G00 filters on my '02 TD42T (thanks Roly! ;) ) and before I changed oil to J-MAX used to wait 6-10 secs for oil light to go out. Now, abt 1-2 secs max...go figure! :roll: :?
