78 series transfer case seal
Hi The front drive shaft seal on my 78 Series has a bit of a leak, looking for information and experiences on replacing this - I have the part but have no diagrams on how it goes in. My Guess would be to remove the front drive shaft and bell coupling from the transfer case leaving just the shaft ...

Some do get dirty! http://i985.photobucket.com/albums/ae335/prichens/4WD/DSCF1125.jpg Clearly this is not always the case, but at the price and current age of these 4x4's I guess it's not surprising. All said we had a good time out a Sundown National Park. * This is just one of the 4x4's going on ...

That sounds like a strong possibility, if the fan is not working the A/C will not be working - I hope! With all fault finding start simple - bit like me  Look at what is working and what is not, same with tracing the actual fault, work from the switch, if it has no power go back further. Often ...

I guess most people that would install an after market Taco are rice cars running on petrol with a little NOS from time to time. most people I see with aftermarket tachos have stock engines, with the shift lights set at 2000rpm so it comes on in maccas carpark. Serious question - do race cars have ...

Put a micro sw in the tach just where the needle hits the revs you want, run a light off the sw. Bazzle You could always just glance at the needle. Even doing 0-100 in under 10 seconds you've got about 3 seconds to plan each shift. ;) The power and signal is all at the Tacho, all you need to cut ...

Maybe the big tach could trigger off the cam sensor or off the alterantor. Good luck Zac Andy Cheers, not worried about the tacho as i have a VDO one already. Just want to wire up a shift light. Ok we are getting somewhere - oh and the gear you already have - Geez how the hell did I know you were ...

Easily sorted - turn the lights off - if it's still hot after a while you may have a problem, part of the reason I love LED lights so much! Mind you I have a couple of 10Watt LED modules and they get very hot if no heart sink is stuck to the back of the module, thinking of buying a 100Watt version ...

Is it automatic? No manual. The setup is a high reving diesel that i only want to rev to a certain rpm. As there is no power loss it is easy to get carried away. Cheers So it's not an Auto... So I guess the Getto blaster is up way too loud! But seriously it should be easy to install a shift light ...

Looking for anyone on the forum that can help me with Drive by Wire Cruise control install or installers - either to install it for me or to give some help with Wiring for the accelerator cable part, even as simple as the part number for the "T" connector for the AP800 Cruise control interface.

Why the hell would you want it inside the car? Safe from mud and water?? They are designed to be out in the elements - it's only the air intake that is a problem, this can be easily extended to a high point or as I did into the Air intake box. As for the comment about it over heating, if it's the ...

Run a good Isolator like the Redarc, you don't need breakers, just make sure you use fuse blocks off the batteries for you accessories. Most important thing is use split convoluted tubing and secure your wiring, you won't have any trouble nor need mains breakers Good advice, I have experienced the ...

Was thinking about this as well as I'm putting in a dual battery soon. When I worked at a truck workshop, most of them had auto and manual circuit breakers which I think might be a good option. 78 Series - 2005 - is it OBD11 compliant?
Hi I don't currently have any problem with my Motor or ECU but have tried to read the ECU with two different OBD11 Readers in both cases the devices came back with a protocol error or simply could not read the ECU! I also tested my Daughters Toyota Starlet with one of the tools and it gave a similar ...

Just caught up with this subject. Mid last year I was looking at the TJM Lockers for my 78 Series, ended going with ARB due to one fact - TJM could not supply them until early November, I checked "just out of interest" late November and they were still unavailable! Found it hard to believe that TJM ...
