Outer Limits 4x4 Board

hi guys,

I have a 09 hilux and have a heap of play where the passenger cv shaft leaves the diff. I havnt worked on this model b4 so I'm wondering what supports the shaft in place? Is there a bush?

the 4wd shop have said they just replace the cv shaft but the issue seems to me more like the bush ...

What is everyone running for Cruiser CV's...

Original toyota ones lasted 10yr (1HZ and 285/75 Muds) and have since gone through more than 2 each side in 2 yr, first toyota replaced with cheapies so i complained and supposably had them replaced with geniune but they have failed too, no ...

The line did move much quicker than I expected, we camped down the road and hit the gates around 9ish and were in in good time considering the numbers..

Showers were great but possibly the toilets could be cleaned a little more regularly, im sure people arnt that dirty at home!!

Hey Powerful 4x4... Of the weekend im sure you guys got the most cheers!! Gets boring watching truck after truck with hydralics and 4wsteer doing it so easy!!

As far as the cops went, i never seen a problem.. they cruised about and pretty much let everything go.. We had a camp next to us we would have liked them to evict, but ended up having to evict em ourselves! + that blonde coppa was tidy as!!

Great weekend except for the Beetroot pooftas who shat all around our camp.. Was great once they fuked off!! awesome job by the boys in the blak zook...

hilux'sno longer come with factorybull bars.. thanks god anyway, they were crapola!

Played around with plenty of trucks when i spent 7 years in a 4x4 workshop doing custom trucks from comps to tourers...

And I would never take anything heavily modified on long trips.. as soon as you start doing all these mods and head into the middle of nowhere and bust somthing your going to run ...

For a tourer and everyday car they are fine if you treat them accordingly!... Ive got both, but if i was doing any sort of trip id take the new lux over my play toy...

Just cause they wouldnt make it up the old porters road doesnt mean it wouldnt ...

Mate, If your setting up a tourer and just going to have a bit of a play the new lux will be fine.. I have a mate with one with the same lift and 33's and his goes just fine, just dont expect to go rock crawling..

i use 85/140 in open diffs as its a bit harder wearing..

and 80/90 in box's, although some will require 75/90 or in the case of many landcrusiers haveing trouble with the gear selection and to get better changes and life id recomend useing a synthetic, like BP easyshift.

i dont know the name of it but there is a beter plug to use that we used to install in the 4x4 workshop i worked at.

the male and female end get replaced and its a slightly smaller plug..

it is also used on the waeco batteries next to the normal cig plug..

these can handle more amps.

ummm, i cant find a pic, but lets just say your basic wrap around the main edges, ie under sill, around tyre, above bonnet and round front window and roof etc?

what do these things cost? for just your standard exo on a hilux??

and if you were to fall over would they be strong enough to protect the roof and body from crashing in?

unless your planning on being a fully HARDCORE dood, like these other blokes, then the ARB 2" lift or anything similar would get you most places you would wanna take it.

Also i never broke a CV? funny that cause i drove the veichle for what it was capable of doing, including alot of drives with members form this and other HARDCORE ...

yea, and it would have a weird foam at each end to dodgily seal it?????

you should use a small amount of silicon to seal the snorkel properly and silicon up th drain hole in the airbox.. it gets messy!

yea, sass and autotecnica are the same boss kits, the stering wheels have the same mounting holes.. other than that they are differant..

i think my boss kit cost me $90 from repco a few years back!

do the install on the car

easiest way to drill the smaller holes is with a step drill, and most installers would throw the temps out after fitting so you might need to call safari direct..
