Actually they are marginally stronger due to a redesigned planetary gear pin in the hemisphere. They removed a stress raiser, so the pin doesnt usually break, the planetary gear now gets destroyed instead.

Actually i think with twin cases it'd be fine. The torque will be substantially less due to the cases, and it's going behind the same motor that it was designed for, in a vehicle lighter or at least similar weight than it was designed for. Slightly OT, but I'm hoping somebody can educate me. I've ...

LC60 front spring heights F&R.
I'm going to rebuild a V8 seriesII LandRover onto a LandRover SeriesIII Stage1 chassis. This one currently has LandCruiser 60 series axles front and rear on LandRover leaf springs. I've picked up some LC60 leaf springs and I'm looking to setup the new chassis on Toyota leaf springs this time to make ...

We run an ESAB 875 (.875" cut) which is a good unit. I would overspec the cutter because they get really crappy near their limits. I wouldn't bother with gas, just run it on compressed air. Not sure about the others because I've only had ESAB plasma cutters, but these are turn it on and they just ...

I would have thought no damage. Just rebuild the distributor, tune it and go driving again.
If its the camshaft it'd probably be as the post above and easier to get another motor.

They bring the ride height up a fair bit which increases weight, loading, stability and wind resistance problemslukethedork wrote:Why don't you guys just put the deck above the wheels?

I think it was AMV or someone in Melbourne that did the electronic kit. It was based on a windscreen wiper motor and apparently didn't cope with mud too well. Someone ages ago also posted me this. Depending on how much tip angle you want, we've done a few that hinge on the end of the drawbar, and that makes the axle become the pivot.

Remember that you're running Rover gearboxs. I think 4.11 returns 33's to standard gearing, 4.3 is 35's and 37's may be 4.5 or something. I've seen 49% transfer break absolutely everything between it and the wheel with the exception of a Salisbury diff. Rover, Maxi whatever.

Intresting point. I would have thought the further out the sway bars meet the axle the more roll resistance they would give. Thinking about it though, the longer the torrsion bar inbetween the arms that go to the axle the less roll resistance. As the torrsion bar would twist more, so using a ...
