I think ive found a good place to get the conversion done, apparently theyve done about 6 conversions including two hiluxs with 1UZs.. price seemed reasonably, not stupidly cheap or overly expensive and i saw an example of their work, looked very neat! So ill keep everyone posted :lol: cheers andy

I spoke to cheezy a while ago in regards to a 5ltr converion but he wasnt interested.. Says he only builds buggys and fabs stuff. So any other shops anyone knows of?

Just to get price comparisons... I rang ontrack and they reckon about 2 weeks labour to get it in and wired and tuned.

budget is round 5-6k, twisty in queensland got one in a four runner for about that as did nemsis i think in nsw.. any other shops apart from aus4WD?

Marks 4wd only do conversion kits.... an infinity V8 into a patrol is about 8k drive in drive out at aus4wd ive hear, bit exy!

Gday all, Ive got a 86 model bundy with a tired 2L-T and am looking at doing a V8 conversion (1UZ-FE :D).. got 5 of them and one 16 x 8 rim for $1800 from trail, track, outback in ferntreegully.

That included taking my old tyres off 4 rims and fitting and balancing the claws... had them out on the weekend, wicked tyres!

Go the claws! Just had a set fitted friday and went out to gemby on sunday and they were unreal! Although id have no clue on wear rates etc... but i know theyre a shit load better than coopers st's :P

Would if be heating up because its non intercooled? Would a little intercooler for the stock turbo keep the heat down? Any thoughts..

Hi all, I just bought a '86 Bundera turbo diesel (2.4 4 cylinder). Took it out wheeling on the w/e and goin up a big hill in 2nd low range it heated up right up to the red on the heat gauge. It was revving at 4g all the way up. Is this simply because of the lack of air flow and hi revs? It also ...
