140KW from a 2.8 diesel
After reading the nissan ection, these guys are running 15 to 20psi on relatively stock motors and gaining shit loads of power. i can't stop but to think, screw a v8, bomb the diesel. i'm thinking port and polish, better valve springs, balanced crank, turbo pistons, thicker head gasket, better beari...

1HD-T in a Lux
This is a serious question. i want more power and will not go to petrol. I can get a 1hdt for about 3-4 grand. i understand they have roughly 120kw standard, with a fmic, around 18psi and 3 inch should be looking around 160kw... ;) Now how do i go with the electrics, do i need bigger fuel lines. a k...

See this is the thing,
It is completely stock for the first 2-3 meters. (luck to be 2 inch) then it still only goes to 2.5 inch, doesn't sound like a mack or nothin
Ya reckon a 3 inch would make a bit of diff ?

3L - ct20 holding 11 pound all the way to 3700rpm
G'Day all Just wondering if i should be getting worried or not. I only just got it onto the road but never used to be able to drive it much. only little drive around the block and sh*t. Now hat i have done a bit of drivin it holds 11psi all the way to about 3700 rpm before it starts to drop off. Bef...

G'Day mate I'm a hilux man but do know a little about bruisers. From what i can gather the 1HD FT or 1HD FT-E motor are the way to go. they are factory turboed and go pretty good apparently. or you can go the standard 1HZ non turbo and get an aftermarket kit, they go pretty good too. you can even go...

Yeah i had my injector fully rebuilt and wound the fuel up 10%, i advanced the injector pump about 1.5mm (clockwise) and got the injectors rebuilt and wound up. The ct20 off my 2LT-E runs 11psi at its absolute lowest boost setting - with a boost - T ( i think the turbo was high flowed ) I used the 2...

You got a hard decision to make mate. i've had a gq ute, with a 5l slightly worked. even with an aluminium tray, the power was ok but not that great. but the fuel was unreal, the stock fuel tank, i think about 65L, got me about 350 km..... but that was with 35's too. i guess if you go the 5L you'll ...

So do you think a ct26 would come on earlier, with a standard exhaust manifold.
I have heard they come on sooner.. around 1200rpm, and noticeably drop in boost after 3300rpm, which sounds too good to be true....

So out of all this do we know which turbo suits 2.8 best. i have one stock as a rock off a 2LT-E and goes ok. but from what i can gather they aren't efficient over say 13psi??? So if i front mount intercool my lux, get a ct26, i should be able to pump out around 14-15psi happily ya? Or will the boos...

Surf centres in lux.. EASY 4.88 RATIOS!
I worked out the code on my vin, turns out surfs have 4.88 ratio (well mine does anyway..2LT-E) So for easy 4.88 ratios in a lux housing, you could swap them.... yes or are they different. i want a coil front and got a clean hilux front ready to be coiled, just wanna know if a surf LSD rear diff, wo...

Because the gq diff is all ready to go. and 79 series diff is hard to come buy and if you do get one they won't be as cheap as a gq. $500 each is not bad at all. G'Day all spanner monkeys
Heres the thing... i have 35's at home ready for use. until i put the gq diffs in, i wanna give em a slosh around. It currently has a 2inch body lift. and i've wound the torsion bars up about 40mm. Is this enough or do i need to chop guards aswell (doesn't bother me)
Cheers

Just my 2 cents. I have heard from 2 dealers and heaps of mates out the mines that No.7 pot either seizes up or drops it straight out the side of the block. no lie guys. 55 grand is a lot of money for that little v8 cruiser badge . spend 35 on the older, more proven 4.2TD i say. much cheaper and the...

5L head on a Turboed 3L? Got bigger valves apparently....
G'day all Just wondering. i read somewhere that a guy ditched his 3L for a 5L, the ct20 turbo bolted straight up. apparently the 5L cam is the same as the 3L. i know the power drop off (also max boost) on a 3L is about 3000rpm, 5L is about 3450 rpm (also max boost). he was gettin around 90kw at the ...
