Intermittent cooling problem where the needle will climb past half way.
It's okay when it's moving at speed, it's just when it's crawling.
Oil appears to not have any water in it so I am assuming the head gasket is ok.
It's not using any water so I am assuming the radiator itself is water tight ...

I have a red 1991 2.8L Turbo Isuzu MU.

The only way you are going to get peak power from this motor is to spend big money on it. If you aren't prepared to do that then you are never going to push it to it's limits and you may as well just go with a well set up TMIC.
