Some time ago I swapped the two diff/housings, Booster/master cylinder and brake lines out of an 82 BJ40 into my early 73 FJ40 to gain front disc brakes and a balanced system and it worked well. I just had to space the booster 100ml out from the fire wall to clear the stiffening fin.

G60's

G'day all, I have to declare I am a fj40 driver. But a mate of mine, Mark (after breaking his leg badly twice on dirt bikes) has decided to put his very nice G60 middy back on the road. He is in the process of fitting a Gmh 308 into it and we have just got him a nice second hand soft top for it at a ...

Its a process of elimination, do the simple bit first.
Bleed the whole system, then try it out....
If no joy, check your rear wheel cylinders for free operation, and go on from there....

Good luck

Re: 40/45s Box and Transfer

I read a year or two back in a US 4x4 mag that there was a particular year model cruiser (NON US) that had a really strong box and transfer. They stated the month/year that it was from but i cant remember what it was.
Can someone confirm or set this straight. Is it true or not, if so what models ...

2f clutch

Last christmas I fitted a 2f out of a 60 series into a 1973 f 4 speed 40 series. the input shaft is the same, 10 spline, no problem. A 2f 4speed should be the same in a 60 or a 40.
My problem was, I didnt get the rear engine mounts and r/h clutch slave cylinder with the motor. So I had to swap over ...
