He he... yep. I did have the hose handy when I was cutting there. If I had a petrol I would have been looking for another way to do the job.
I had a few interesting moments when welding there too. My truck dribbles a bit of fuel when it is on its side, so there was a bit hiding in the cavities between the skins

inside the quater was OK, but that brace was chockas, and it was all compressed in there.
When you cut through the brace, did you leave the bottom of it open so the shite can get out??

It's open at the moment, but I am thinking of sealing the entire brace hole up to the top with expanding foam so that there is no void for the crap to accumulate.

nah, that'll work like a big sponge and hold all the water there.

You can get the waterproof stuff. We use it to seal cable voids. It forms a water tight skin on the outer surface.

BTW, the sikaflex worked like a dream! The end product is similar to yours actually. Probably not quite as neat... I wish I had your skilz.
Don't go blasting water up that hole... you will fill the inside of your truck!!!
No bar yet... but soon hopefully.

I agree with anyone who agrees with me!
They look so crap with the cuts, true the departure angle may be increased big time, however @ what cost?
I thing the MQ is going to get some heathly bar work to wrap round the side... hmmmm bending pipe

If you put a 3inch body lift on a short MQ you shouldnt have to cut the body only replace the bumper

Raison d'etre - I don't see any other way to stop that area being constantly hammered without cutting the panel back to get some steel in there with which to grind.
The returns on that bar are always getting dragged along, and I would have a better departure angle than most...

The back still sits out on the MQs but. Approach angle is fine though... the exact opposit of an FJ40

I have to laugh that this is a whole thread about 1/4 chops on MQs... yet there is not a single pic of an MQ rear 1/4 for comment.
Can someone please post one?

On the outside cut a 9inch grinder cut about 2cms from your mark. then a good pair of tin snips. worked wonders! not so the inside cut. needed 4inch grinder for that!
