thanks for that fallas, what i call a dust seal the picture calls it an oil seal.

can some1 tell me which way the dust seals go and the mounting bolts for the backing plate, are nuts on the inside of the brakes or the axle tube side. thanks, joe.

I put a 2H and 5speed in my 45, the 5speed is great. try Marks Adapters about the 5speed to 308 i think they should be able to help you there

How long has it been since you serviced the auto, maybe it needs to be flushed.

I don't think they do a dual t-case for the 40s

I'd love to put a V8 twin turbo diesel into my 40#

I think its 1.2meters past the rear with a 200mm X 200m red flag, not sure about the front, this is for a truck, may be the same for you.

My sparky told me a new one is around $400. A rebuild is around $80 from memmory.

You can get all the panels in fireglass.

Buy a workshop manual and read that section and work out if you think you can do it. If you stuff it up you can always pay someone to fix it, thats how I'm learning.

Has any one put a 2ND alternator onto a 2H, and ifso how did you do it. What I was thinking of doing is to run the 2nd alt (maybe 100amp plus) to run cranking battery and winch and the original alt to run 2nd battery for all the accessories. The 2H is in an FJ45, also, what alt should I use. Thanks ...

Thanks for that chevj40, i'll sus it out, the reason i'm ask is that i have a 60series diff in the shed and i pulled the hubs of hoping that i could put the disc brakes on my 45. Want to upgrade the cv's while it's pulled apart.

I have a FJ45 with a 200 litre tank that is strapped under the tray. I have had it full and been bushbashing and have never had any trouble with it. The bolts used are cup heads.

G'day everyone. What a ripper of a site. Igot my hands on a 60 series front diff, I am wondering if the swivel hubs would fit on the front of my FJ45. I have taken the 60 series swivel hubs off and have cleaned them up and if they fit my 45 i will be replacing the seals and bearings, so, do you guys ...
