Re: Suzuki sierra weber carb
Rubbish. How often are you over 90% throttle? That is the time your shiny weber will be letting more air/fuel in. The rest of the time you are using less than the capacity of the stock carb so less air=less fuel. Check the mixtures on a dyno or with a wideband on the road and change jets to suit ...

New Lux Muddies- How big?
Hi all, Got a young mate who has just bought a New TD SR Hilux. Standard highway pattern tires. Worst. Tires. Ever. Needs some muddies. The car has a 2" lift. How big a tire can we jam under it without major works? He has been told you need to stay with the standard offset on the rims which is ...

One litre? Should I?
What is wrong with a 1L as a starting point for a non-standard Zook? What are the down sides for fitting later model stuff to one. Is the engine bay tighter? I had a 1L once, with a Toyota 2TG twin cam 1600 but it was more than 15 years ago and it was tight. That much I remember. Assuming the engine ...

Cheap muddies, Anyone used them?
Does anyone have any experience with "Sonny", "Achilles Desert Hawk", "Goodride", or "Westlake" Budget muddies? I am chasing some budget 31's and I am in Canberra, everything cheap is in Sydney and I cant see it from here. $850 with rims seems too good to be true for four. Is it?

Re: 92 Sierra W/T Suspension questions
Fairly sure the hiace shocks won't fit, I just tried to fit mine in and they are too long to go in with the car sitting in the driveway. I have SPOA but I was using the two sets of spring plates, the lower one to mount the shocks so in the standard position if that makes sense. I have OME +40mm ...

Re: Godawful vibration turning right.
Spoa done to stock angles, sitting on level stands, with a 1200mm straightedge and a set of verniers each end, may be a little out due to missing link geometry, I havent had it on an aligner but will once I do the front end. Cromolys coming sunday, swivel overhaul kit here. Just need a locked rear ...

Godawful vibration turning right.
Hi there, I have a intermittent vibration/chatter when turning right, if I hit a bump at speed or accelerate it starts up, and i have to slow right down for it to stop. Feels/sounds like it is coming from the front right to me in the DS. Maybe just front Massive vibration/Chatter. Demands attention ...

Re: Suzuki sierra loses acceleration
Had a battery issue like that once, welded the Posivive terminal to the underside of the bonnet in the paddock one night. Fried the earth wire-Gone. Engine and lights died, glowing red spot on the bonnet was all we could see. Had to fab an earth wire out of a fence. Have to agree about the speck of ...

Re: Need help with some wiring issue please
I would be looking at Earth issues if the problem is widespread. Find a wire that should have earth on it, and earth it straight to the battery Neg. Make sure body earth from block to body is sound or run another to something solid on body. Something to start with. Why did it cook wiring in the ...

Doing a 12A, just rebuilding motor, left room for the 20mm stretch later on.
Buildup thread to be done too. Cold here, probably a good time to start that now the zook is too tall for the shed.

Wire it up to power from a switch so you have a throttle up, you can adjust the setting..
Handy when you dont want to drop back to 0% throttle when crawling etc.

Re: Sierra engine cutting out
Mine did the same, used to start and idle fine until you drove it around for a while. Had a chunk of shit in the passage to the idle jet, would come loose and work fine, then suck into the idle jet fuel hole in the end and crap out. The stocky carb is irritating, to pull the top off you have to ...

Re: 85 n/t sierra RUF?
I did a little chassis extension, and made a tiny set of missing links that sit the shackle 35-40mm foward. They were only meant to test the theory, if it is too loose I will move the factory mounts foward. With nylon bobbins between chassis and top of MLs it give some adjustment to the spring and ...

Got a heap of photos, trying to get it going, then will do a buildup thread.
Got a bare axle housing, building it up, Thanks Rob.
Seems promising to drive. Only had it to 4000 Rpm, much more power than stock.

Re: 12A Auto SPOA RUF WT/NT Buildup?
Sad but true.
My new front diff, bent on left hand end.
My new rear, seems to have broken side gears.
Anyone got some WT diffs in Canberra?
Three days past the deadline, runs and drives but some shocking noises from the rear.
Not buying Zook wreck from Alco braindeads again.
No Faith.

Exhaust smell on deceleration
I have got me a soft top zook which pumps exhaust into the car when you slow down. It seems fine when you are accelerating or cruising, and the mixtures are ok... I am about to make a new exhaust for it, I was wondering if anyone has relocated their tailpipe somewhere else other than standard, and ...
