Re: TB42 - Life expectancy and GQ Year model Q's

hey mate,
my diesel cost me 6000 and it was stock as a rock... if your patient they do come up for low prices because people do want to be rid of them sometimes, its basically a blank canvas for you to start on then.

She had 380 000 on it when i bought it.. strapped a turbo on, still going strong ...

i used the 2.4 box on a 2.8 hilux with a turbo, it was ok for that, using it on a 6 cylinder i believe will be very very restrictive. GU airboxes are even wider than the standard GQ box from what im led to believe.

Remember when you buy shiz from the states, the parts are designed for LEFT HAND DRIVE CARS, and also, warranty on parts, its a bit hard to prove you didnt install it wrong, had these roblems, never do it again.

If you can be arsed go to ARB and by 2 MD02 wiring kits, they can handle the high current flow, its neat and set up all you have to do is run it to where yu need it and insulate it.

Pyro and boost will fit in a GQ into the clock and the lighter space if you di grind the hole properly and with care, i sacrificed both, but neither of them worked, and the hook up to make them light up was there as well.

Just a thought anyhoo.

Exhaust side should be at least a/r .086

Im running a hi flowed t28 with the hot side at that. 10psi from rougly 1600 revs. One which you have sounds like a t25, it will boost from idle almost at that size, hence choking up.

The Shire mate.

LOL as for making it more plesant to drive it does that, but it also gives it that extra bang if u need to stomp it for eg, over taking or when your off road.

What boost are you planning to run after you get a tune?

To be honest, i could wind it to 14, but the way it is, i am pretty happy with 10.

With the amount of weight in my vehicle which is nothing but ARB barwork a rack and 35s on a 5 inch lift, no draws, no ratios etc, combined with my weight ...

I'll be using heat wrap, and either a heat sheild or beanie for the hot side of my turbo.
Yep, put a bit on the firewall if your exhaust comes close to it. i had to due to the way i had to make my dump pipe.
