I did mine, pulled the gearbox out as it is the only way to get to it. once the box was out it took 5 minutes to replace.

There is a ser3 wagon that lives in the Blue Mountains for sale that has a 4bd1, I have passed it a few times it has a 4 sale sign in the window. I think it lives in Faulconbridge, someone may know of it. I will see if I can get more detail if your interested?

Be carefull with the bodies on these they are very very brittle, I replaced mine because it got a small crack on top around the positive terminal, that let in moisture and corroded the inside. I then pulled it appart and it broke up even more. Might take some pics if anyone is interested.

You can also get the albright type solinoids as pictured above from Superwinch in Minto for $200 I picked one up a few weeks ago. That is the 12v version not sure about 24v.

Unless I am missing something, Looks like the obvious and cheapest choice is to run a rangie chassis. would be similar to Dozoor's build. You are running rangie a frame anyway, and much less work under the front end if you did want to run a five link, coil mount's panhard mount etc existing ...

stephen is this with std ecu sounds like a good setup. How much to set yours up and where did you get manifolds etc done I made up the mainfold with 6mm angle and steam bends, the head flange I had laser cut but If I was unable to get that done at the time I would have just cut it of the extractors ...

I have a turbo on the 1.3 I find with the injection alone more than enough tourqe with the 1.3 and then the turbo is great on road, and mud etc. I would go either way my choice was on cost it was less expensive for me to do the turbo and we could still run the air conditioning. There are some good choices for 16" rims I run 255/85 r16's on modified GV rims which are about 33.4x9.5" wide, you could try a 235/85 r16 its 32x9" wide, I have a friend running this in MTR's
