LT230 Transfer
I've just got a LT230 transfer for the Rangie as I've been told it'll bolt up with no problems (I've got what I need to convert it) but I looked in the bible to compare the different ratios and the one I have has a serial number starting with 61D as is't a from a 2000 Disco and on the case it has a ...

Just a thought. Why not try a mechanical gauge directly connected to the pressure switch mount, to check whether your gauge is reading correctly. Most mechanics have them. 300K is lot though. I bet you never worried before you bought that damn gauge. Regards Philip A One of the reasons I bought the ...
Well I put some HPR40 (25w-70) in and the pressure only incresced to about 32-35psi so I'm going to do the pump but I have been told that the main and/or bigends are worn and they might need replacing as well as the motor has done nearly 300000k's. To do the oil pump do I need to remove it from the ...
I am talking about the centers as I'm looking at getting a couple of centers and getting lockers put in them (as to what ones I'm not sure YET) then get hardened axles for them and then do a swap over so I can keep the car on the road while I get the lockers sorted. And yes at the same time convert ...

Diffs ??
Will a Disco Series 2 diff fit my 91 Rangie??
I know it's a 24 spline and mines a 10 but will the ratios be the same as I'm looking at converting if I can get the gear cheap enough.

just take the cover off the pump and drop the gears out, replace the gears, check the cover for wear and pack it with vaseline to prime it, fit cover, job done. It could be the pressure relief spring that is causing the lower pressure, so may be worth replacing that first. Can you do that while it ...
Oil Pump
I have just fitted a oil pressure gauge to the beast and have found that the oil pressure is a little low as it's down to 28-30 psi at 2500rpm at opperating temp as it's ment to be 40psi min apparently. Is it hard to rebuild/reco these as the rest of the motor seem okay (except for maybe the heads ...

How much guard to trim??
How much guard will I need to trim to fit 285/75r16's as I'm only going for a 2" suspension lift and looking at 16x8" rims with a -25 offset and using the flexy flares I have lying around. If I get the guard trimed and folded to the dotted line in the pic below will that be enough?? http://i13 ...

Transfer case play/slop ??
I have a BW transfer in my Rangie and was wondering if anyone can tell me how much play is there ment to be if any as I can rotate the drive shafts a little (there is no play in the gearbox or diffs) and the front flange on the transfer has some play in it as well as that can move up, down etc etc a ...

May just need head gaskets. The heads would need checking for warping and maybe skimming. From 76 the heads had the larger valves, until the bigger ports on the 10 bolt heads. So will they fit or not as I'm curious to know and is there any power/performance gain from this at all or not ?? I'm new ...
