I did it on Sunday and haven't really noticed much difference, maybe a little less clunky i suppose. I don't think it had the right oil in there before hand, it was really thin and this is the first oil change since I've had it.

Wish I could help you but the Toyota Surf Forum is down until Sunday night at the moment.

If you get stuck and have no where else to go, look up www.toyotasurf.asn.au/forum
or
www.toyotasurf.asn.au/techsite

Hope that helps.

The Surf has a coil rear end and hasn't been played with too much, from memory, 4 inch suspension lift and 2 inch body.
I think it was around the 6k mark but don't quote me on it.

Yes, I go wheeling with him all the time. Yes it's bloody expensive but from the performance change which I've seen, $$$ don't matter when you can do that. :D

I've met ozrunner a couple of times and his 4runner is the best I've ever seen. He is always thinking of new mods to do, things you would never even think of.

Engineers in general have stopped certifying mods unless they do it themselves. There have been some serious claims against engineers and they are running scared(I don't blame them).
I tried to get 35's under an 80 series engineered and nobody would do it so I had to stick with 33's.

You can use Mobil 1 or similar in Deisel motors and increase your service period to 10,00km. Downfall, engine bore glazing due to hi detergant in the oil.
You should still change your filter every 5,000km as well.

Turn your snorkel head to face backwards, it works a treat and doesn't get mud down the intake as well.

Is it just me or does every winch topic end up in commercial advertising for Brawn winches? Borderlining on SPAM here

I'm reccomending the Brawn winch because I think it's the best product. I've got nothing to gain out of this.

It's my understanding that Warn winches are not waterproof and will void the warranty if they are submerged unless you fork out the extra $$$$ on a waterproofing kit. I have a 9,500lb Brawn winch, it's fully waterproof and pulls the Cruiser no problem.

I've got a set of LightForce 240 Blitz on the 80 series and they are fantastic, set them to wide angle or spot, your choice or anything inbetween. The only problem is when you go to low beam, it's like you're driving in the dark! They are good.

I have to agree with the "gee that's too difficult" story when you first purchase a 4wd. I was like that when I got my 90 surf. Now I have a competant 80 series cruiser with all the recovery gear you could ask for and I still balk at tracks if I'm on my own.

Hey Saint, you should call me before you go and book in shocks and springs girl!!!! You know that!
Anyway, I would have gone and looked at the NanKang tyre range before you buy the BFG's.
I can also get a good price on the EFS range of shocks and Carrols Springs.
