Hired a Carribean too and it had dodgy power steering...it was there, but only just.

Cheap though! 20 bucks a day, no limits and full (including personal) insurance and roadside assistance!

2lt questions.....

Is the bottom end in a 2L the same as the bottom end in a 2LT (oil galleries, pistons etc...) and if it isn't, what are the differances???

Also, do all 2lt's have 2lt written on the block...?

Sorry, yes the shaft turns when in 4x4/unlocked hubs when driving....and does not turn when in 2x4/hubs locked. If one hub works and the other doesn't, wouldnt the front shaft turn if the good one was locked? It seems unusual that they would both be faulty at the same time when one week earlier they ...

No 4x4?

My 85 Hilux wont b a 4x4.

Hubs unlocked and 4x4 engaged, front shaft turns.
Hubs locked and 4x4 disengaged, front shaft wont spin.

So I am guessing there is something wrong with the hubs.....I havn't heard or done anything for an axle to snap or a CV......

Any clues?

My stock Injected 5ltr in a VL Calais put out 150KW at the rear wheels. RUFF, the 304 in the VL was the most underpowered Holden V8 I can think of! It was released during all the unleaded/pollution change over era.... In my 6cyl VL i could accelerate way faster than my friends VL Calais V8.... NO 5 ...
