As above I have a T3500 Mazda truck 3.5L 4cy . Have just rebuilt the engine, and following a bad idea of putting a ebay turbo on it Im keen for a smaller turbo. So my question is, what size turbo?? Seems to be hard question even for MTQ. I would like boost of 8-12psi by 2000 Rpm, keep in mind the ...

and from my experiance. Snap there goes a crank!!!. But that is pretty good from an old SD i must say!! Thoughts KiwiBacon? Looks quite good. Torque figures are about what they should be so no-one is playing silly-buggers with the dyno settings. Those SD33's must breathe quite well to provide 118kw ...

I wouldnt say it needs a rebuild at that klms, before buy it, take oil filler cap off at hot adle and check how much blow-by there is. I asume its a MQ non turbo with a turbo fitted??? putting a turbo on a non turbo SD wont shorten its life as they are the same engine, (some will argue the point ...

i did one for the SD but it replaces the heat exchange all together. In hind sight it was a bit of a fizzer. If u still run the heat exchange remove the cast alloy pipe from the filter housing to the heat exchange. Just run a tapper tap in the the housings fit some JIC hydraulic fittings and het ...

something must be wrong with the system, it should under the right conditions go into self clean mode which literally dumps lots of diesel in to the engine. Cant remember if the navras injectors overfuel of it has a injector in the DPF. The excess fuel burn hot and should burn up the particulates ...

I will say a balanced motor does make a noticeable differance at high rpm, when i rebuilt my old SD33T i got the rotating assembly balanced and did the rods and pistons myself. All though this was to try and stop it breaking cranks but in the end it was decided that they are just poor design with 4 ...

All good info. Yes turbo pump is bigger. N/A oil pump only has about 30 psi pressure at max torque around the 1800-2000 rpm. But when fitted to a N/A the power is around 3000rpm by that point it has it 50psi. Althought a very wide bearing still didnt do mine much good, shells were marked after only ...

Vanne, check your damper, just pull one end off and see what its like, should have a fair amount of resistance. Dampers only cover the real prob. to go v8 u will need a bellhousing, if you go RB you can fit a L28 input shaft and bell housing. RB will bolt to this box will be on a lean and small mods on top housing bolts. I have no idea on cost, RB may be the cheapest option if using all used parts at the right price. But injected RB then has ...

what patroler said. I doubt its too advanced, up to 3mm past the marks on the towards the drivers side will be fine for an SD, this make up for worn gears and advance unit on pump drive. sounds like the delivery valve on the injectors pump is playing up. I take it you didnt swap injectors as they are the same.
Since all you did was add a turbo and manifold plus injector pump the prob must be there some where. Silly question no stray rags stuck in the intake???
