Re: dts fit,ent
I fitted a GU ZD30 box to my 95 GQ, I had to cut the bonnet reinforcement underneath in that corner, i did it very carefully with the angle grinder and a thin cutoff wheel. only needs a 4 inch square cut out, being careful not to go through both layers of steel closer to the very side of the bonnet ...

Re: Unifilter into 4.5L petrol GU engine.
After all the basic mods i did to my TB45 auto , by far the best thing I ever did was the gas injection, i got a significant economy increase of almost an extra 100ks/ tank of gas depending on driving style and a massive power increase. I was very happy with the results, High flow sports exhaust ...

Re: Problems after blocking EGR on Gu.
Have you installed a boost gauge? I think you will find that the GU ZD30 ECU controls the boost level, it does this with consideration of how much exhaust gasses are re circulating. When i blocked the EGR valve on my mates i saw the boost level drop off under load, i believe it substitutes boost ...

I've seen someone use smooth peanut butter before. Use a cloth and rub it in, circular motion. Natural peanut oil apparently does the trick.

The pic was taken on a dead straight, level section of road at cruise speed.
The pic tells you several things. You can see from it that I was cruising at 110kph on a flat road. That I was not coasting and therefore showing an lower EGT than normal. It shows my boost level. It shows my EGT.

Re: Mechanical Diesel Engine Tuning - No Chips!
Thanks heaps Northside for going to the effort, I found your dorky graphs most informative. I can now see and understand a problem I have been having with surging around 2800rpm range. 95 GQ coilcab with BB turbo, large FMIC, 3 inch straight through exhaust, fuel turned up nearly 1/2 turn standard ...

Re: ZD30 Upgrade mods
I found when doing these exact same mods in standard form the ZD30 ECU controls the boost level by a control valve in the front of the engine bay via a vacuum hose to the turbo. Originally the ECU will substitute some boost pressure with exhaust gasses from EGR. It is important that when blocking ...

After installing 80% reduction gears in my GU Auto i replaced the oil with Dextron 3. Red stuff came out when i cracked it open. Done many hard core trips without any problems. My GQ I was told by a reparable mechanic to put gear oil and 1 Cup of Dextron. GQ runs smoother now.

Re: Drop box chassis cut or not?
I recently fitted the cheaper drop boxes to a mates GU, they required trimming a small lip off from bellow the original mount for the arm, its non structural and is necessary for the drop box flange to fit snug against the original mounting point. Its easy to see once you have them in front of you ...

I had a set of the older ST, 315/16. On my lifted GU wagon. Re: DSR HIGHMOUNT KITS? Problems????
Mate, sounds like a turbo problem, I have a GT35 with a .70 on my td42. Not ideal I know, but I got it very cheap, spools nicely from 1800 rpm and is easily boosting at 13 psi at 3000rpm through a massive front mount ic, standard pump wound up 1/4 turn. Cheers.

Re: 2000 GU Patrol Dual Fuel HELP/ADVICE on gas system
My 4.5 when standard never got over 300 K's to a tank of LPG. Installing iridium plugs and an sports exhaust with extractors gave me extra 30-40 K's. But by far the best decision I made was throwing the old mixer system gas and installing gas injection. Heaps more power and was getting 400 K's every ...

Re: White exhaust ports - (only some) Tappets?
I have also heard of the middle most cylinders getting majority of the LPG. I believe this is because the LPG falls from the intake into the manifold and continues falling to the closest ports as lpg is heavier than air. Thus the main reason gas vapor injection for efi vehicles have a massive gain ...

Unfortunately not as easy as a fan belt or pulley. Noise does not change relative to engine speed, noise does coincide with the road speed. Gets quiet down to a squeak when slowing down through a town. And makes no difference what wheels/tyres I'm using.

Connects directly to vacume shut off valve thingie on my fire wall then through to the fuel pump throttle actuator. 95 St coil cab. When the air con pump turns on, this increases the idle speed.
