hello again new problem this time... i turn the key off and my 12ht keeps running, when i lifted up the bonnet and closed the shut off valve i could hear a vacuum noise so i snooped around and the valve on the back of the crossover pipe was cracked ( a vacuum line goes onto the valve) and the ...

nope still no good took it for a fair drive and its just no good...

with the car on a flat and at a stand still if i keep the clutch pedal depressed and try to put the car into gear you can feel the gearbox move as tho the clutch is still partially engaged...
i guess its gearbox back out then...???

it seems to be clutch related i replaced the slave cylinder today and it seems better but we didnt hang the box while putting it in we basically picked it up slid it in then put the hoists trans jack under it while holding the box (5 blokes)..

i have just finished putting my gearbox back together after i sheared a few teeth off the input shaft and now when i drive up the street it feels like the clutch isn't completely releasing and won't allow me to change into second but the clutch pedal feels good and it has a fair bit of travel and ...

the power is great and so is the car but i am feeling an itch for a different car...
i wont be parting it out though
$6K really isnt worth selling it... i got the motor for $5500 i would have thought atleast $7500... spewin

i am thinking about selling my 60 series and i want to know what it may be worth... it is an 87' model hj61 ( twin headlight model) with 12 months rego 6 seater with a 12HT manual (engine has about 260 000 K's ) odometer says 370 000k's for the car ( i did an engine swap) has OME suspension 2" lift ...

i put a vacuum line onto the solenoid and it shuts off fine so i think all is good but if you can post the pics that would be great... cheers

hello all i have pretty much finished putting the 12ht in my 60
but i have a problem with all the vacuum lines...

does any body have a clear photo of a 12ht in a 60 engine bay so i can work out where they all go...

i am mainly concerned with the ones used for turning the engine off....

i put on the new accelerator cable today, and it just doesnt seem right... it seems to be sitting in the wrong place and will not go into any of the retaining brackets... it is also wound all the way out to get the right tension... i think they may have given me the wrong part...??? is there a ...

yep bolts straight in... !!!
i prefer that to messing round with one that doesnt...

okies... i was thinking of juts running it off the glow plug relay... but if its not needed then sweet

the wires have been cut off so does anyone know where the other ones off the heater terminals go???

the motor is in... but i am having a little trouble working out wiring and such... can anyone help with how the heater element in the intake should be wired or how you would have it??? and where the wires that come off that terminal go to??? oh and i just reralized they run a different accelerator ...

its got 263 K on it... not great but still alright...
i will be getting a 3" on it soon just need to save a bit of cash ...
cant wait to see how it goes compared to my 2H

Im stoked... cant wait to get it in and get back out doin some serious offroad!!!

hello i am going to look at a 12ht this week end and i would like to know what would be considered as acceptable compression for one with 263000K's on it??? how do i perform the compression test ??? and what oil pressure should it have??? and if anyone can think of anything specific i should look ...

so you bought axles with the longfields ???

my turbo 2H just spat the dummy... (due to previous owners lack of servicing and general wear and having 370 000ks when i put the turbo on...) but i have now got a: turbo hitachi ht18s-2s from series 4-5 rx7 turbo manifold- simple log style 3" dump pipe oil feed (braided steel) and return line water ...

if you had the money a spring over would greatly improve the articulation...

but that is sort of taking it to the extreme... what about superior drop shackles??? arent they supposed to help with flex???

yeah being poor sux the big one but its soo much fun when you get new toys ( or new parts for your toy) i will be putting an air locker in mine once the engine is sorted... then when i bust a cv i will replace them with longfields... anyone know a price on a set of longfields??? how long would the ...

with out going into too much detail i have found a potential 12ht for roughly $5K but it has 263K's on it... (australian one not jap imported)
regularly maintained...

is this too much $$$ ???

say i did go for the 12ht... how many K's does one of those last before it needs a rebuild ( provided it is looked after) ??? and what would i need to change to fit it to my 60 ??? will it match the 2H box' and everything else or do i have to buy other things for it??? cheers any help will be ...

i cant justify that much money for a second hand engine... and i cant afford to buy a complete donor... plus i am not really bothered by fuel economy coz i ride a pushie to work and the car really only sees offroad and a small amount of onroad ( i guess that could change though...) i have already ...

thanks for the offer carts but the car is off the road now and i wanna do it once and i would like the extra power of the v8... plus i wanna go 35" tyres someday and i think the v8 would be more suited to that... and i plan on having the car for a very long time... long enough to warrant maybe ...

i hvae just about made up my mind and i wanna go the v8...

unless someone has a good 12ht or a good price...

and the car will be offroad a fair bit...

hello all i put up a thread a few weeks ago saying my 2H had died... well i was right on the money with that :cry: the engine is worn so bad that a rebuild is out of the question ( according to the guy who pulled it apart) and we sat down to work out the cost and to rebuild the engine injector pump ...

well its not happening... the lip in the bores is so big we dont think we can get pistons big enough... and for the price there are some better alternatives... so now i am open to suggestions on engines... first on my list is the all mighty 12hT closely followed by an injected 5Lt commonwhore engine ...
