A few of us are heading down to Tassie early next year & to be on the safe side, we will all be taking a good range of spares, including CV's.
My question is, should I get one from Mitsubishi, or would an aftermarket one be OK? If the aftermarket, any suggestions & where can I get one & what ball ...

Have just purchased Mickey T's MTX's. For an A/T, they are exceptional on the black stuff; very quiet, good grip in the wet. Had a run at Mt Selma/Mt Matlock the other weekend & performed well in the slushy stuff. Thought I was going to have an issue on one track, as other mates were running minimum ...

Check ut Toyo Opats. They are great on the road and in mild 4wd use. They are made in Japan, wear very well and are a good price.
I was using Michelin Synchrones as road tyres and the tyre guys said that the Toyos would be better in every department than the Michelins and they have been correct at ...

As part of the insurance agreement the vehical must be in a roadworthy condiation. Since you fail to meet QLD standards in both lift and tyres then they are not legally obligated to honor the insurance contract. Technically this also covers them even if the mods did not cause the accident

Remember w/end of the 18th is the Vic 4wd show at Wandin; I'm sure many will want to go to that.
I would be interested, but not until sometime in March.
Pickle, we might have to get another one of those paj days up & running, if you know what I mean

Good to have you in the '4x4 state' Hudson ;) .
Would be good to have a 'paj day', but as Scott said, a little notice /planning is required. I arrange numerous trips for our group, mainly H/C, Walhalla & Toolangi so if you need to some assistance, give me a yell. Also, if interested in joining us ...

I've personally seen cooper st's vs. JT2's on the same muddy hill, the jt's walked up, the coopers had to be spun quite hard to get up causing much more damage.... this was also on a private property!!

No doubt some here believe I'm a hypocrite, but we were going on to an area that none of us were familar with. There were many tracks closures, which obviously we did not go near, but this one started off ok. The tripleader said a little slippery, but seems ok. A few of the group started to follow ...

All I can say, is that Danny's 'tractor tyres' were AWESOME in the mud. The track where we ran into dramas; (aprox 2hrs of winching recoveries  ) was a little similar to Blowhard/Cockpit at Toolangi.
Mate in his Defender was just a passenger as he went down & luckily came to a stop in a runoff ...

I prefer to be 'safe rather than sorry'. I look at terrain & if not convinced can do it comfortably without locker, I engage it b4 I commence. Wusy, same may say, but if it makes it easier for me, & more importantly the vehicle, why not use it. That's what most of us got the locker for isnt ...

Well i guess it depends where it's rubbing. The 285 cruiser ones only rubbed on the front at the rear where the mudflap attaches with the suspension 'compressed' and when turning.

Where do they rub? I've not noticed rubbing on mine, with Patrol offset rims. I would expect 'Cruiser offset to provide more clearance, and smaller tyres more again.
Looking at pics, it doesn't look like your front has been cranked too far - that's the only possibility I can think of...

Had a similar problem/noise a week or so ago, & it turned out to be the power steering pump, even though it still worked fine. Still expensive to replace, but not as much as a new water pump.
