thanks guys.
I have the computer and loom for the 4.8l, so making it run should not be a problem.

The ports are the same size, I would say the valves are the same size as well.
The intake manifolds flow better i was told, not so the head it self.

yes you will need to cut a bit of the floor so you can shift into 4x4.
take the old mounts out and fit the new ones.
if you raised it by 25-30mm you may not need to cut any thing out to go into 4x4

I have this problem two.
Fitted a new seal and speedy sleave, drove 2500hrs on the road, parked it up for 2 weeks no leaks. Take it out in the sand dunes for a run 150km park it up and the inner seal is leaking again.

If the diff is beat slighty how can you tell when the bent is and fit it?

GQ leaf spring ute diff the same as coil spring patrol.

I looked at a leaf spring gq ute today and the diff's front and back did not look the same as my gq wagon. is that right? I am looking to buy it and change it to coils all round. May need to put a wagon diff in the front as well as stearing box, stearing arm and drag link. This will be a comp car ...

i fitted the 4.2efi head and intake to a 4.5 block.
some rooting around but it is on and running great.
took it out on the beach, has a bit more power that the old 4.2L with 500,000km on it, but that may only be that the new 4.5L motor has only done 200,000km.

very happy with it.

Some info for someone else that may try it. The plan was to swap the intake manifold from the 4.2 and put it on to the 4.5 motor keeping all the wiring the same. The intake studs on the 4.5 are set up the opposite to the 4.2 so the intakes cant be swaped. The 4.5 oil filter housing is water cooler ...

Hey Dez, i found that that happened with my radiator too. I found that the fitting where the cap screws onto to filler was to deep and that the cap rubber couldn't seal. I ended up fitting a thicker rubber and this helped. I hope this helps. Daniels I run a toyota steel cap of a 75 or 80 series ...
