Yea, id be really interested in a GU pod that houses the VDO gauges without spacers etc... It can be done. I went to a few hose places and found a right angled stainless fitting (bend) and ground some of the bend away. Fitted one end to the guage with locktight thread sealer and fitted a nitto 6mm ...

I've just redone my endless air install but did a writeup on it this time to converge everything into one document (instead of trawling the net). Its for a Patrol TD42T but tells you how to do the mods to the compressor. Go to -> http://www.mcs.net.au/~grungle/endlessair.html if interested. Regards ...

If you want boost higher than 13 PSI then you will have to remove the Safety Valve above the intake manifold and blank it off. Otherwise you will be bleeding your compressed air off which will defeat the whole purpose of getting more power/torque. Bunnings sell 1" bungs (Gal or brass) for a couple ...

It is the boost spiking up to 13psi and then factory setup over boost protection valve (round valve in side of chamber) dumps excess boost and will not let it go over 13psi. I had same thing running a GFB controller. They are shit in my opinion and allow the system to spike. I backed the boost back ...

TD42T and a PSSSHHHT sound under load
I have a TD42T with a Go Fats Bits boost control valve set at 12.5 PSI (fitted for 2 weeks). When we went camping over the weekend towing a 1500kg camper, there was a pssshhht sound when giving it a bootful up a hill. There was no loss of boost (according to the guage) or power so I haven't done a ...

Hi
I have done up (modifed a yank chart) a rpm table to work out ideal rpm for given situations. Change the items in blue to what you have/want. I found out what the standard runs and tried different combos until I got close.

Transfer gears are the way to go. 2nd gear low range down steep hills and she will just idle down. Cost works out better as well. Marks gearmasters (try for a show special) $1250 and you can fit yourself in a day. Ratio's from GJ around $1200 and you need to spend around $500 + to get them fitted ...

There is a guy in Maroochydore that fits Mack turbo's to little Mazda rotary engines (company is Mazquick). Motson's TD42T stage 1 upgrade
Anyone had the above done at Motson's (Fuel, aneroid, exhaust, dyno)? In SE Qld, who would people recommend to do the tuning, fuel/boost on a TD42T? Who has done this mod and are they happy or would do differently? Would people recommend driving interstate to have it done by Berrima or Binskins etc ...

I rang up today to price changing my 4.88's to 4.11's and they want $400 each end ($800) to swap and that is without new bearings Changing the crownwheel is simple as it is just a few bolts. Upping boost only on the GU 2.8 does nothing. Factory is 11.5 PSi and I upped it to 18 and you could not notice a thing - a bag of ice on the intercooler does more. Also has a 3" mandrel bent straight through exhaust with no muffler fitted and I think I lost some low down torque (not much but enough ...
