60s dash removal

Need to get the dash off my 60. Managed to get everything bar the four or so large bolts just under the windscreen off. How do you get to these bastards? Felt like I was going to snap the mounts by forcing it up on an angle to try and get to them.

60s steering

Hi, Gave the 60 a bit of a hammering last weekend and now its drifting all over the road. Initially thought it would just be a wheel alignment but upon closer inspection I have bent the main tow arm (wheel to wheel) on the steering. I haven't messed around with the steering before, if I can get a ...

Steering should be fine if you are only going 2'', tranny shifter will be fine but you will need to trim the floor at the bottom of the transfer case (or bend the lever). All the bolts aren't the same length either, you will need to measure them all and add 2''...

For me it's not the $250 holding me back from doing the retrofit it is more the fact that (from what I have been told) 134a is not as efficient as r12 and I will not get as good results from my AC. I wouldn't use LPG but a replacement gas (if safe) seems the better option. It's just a case of ...

Righto thanks. Sounds like the replacement gas is the go, anyone know what its called (er12???) and where to get it? Anyone used it? That failing, the rerofit sounds cheap, was under the impression that it would be closer to a grand. Cheers.

Ok thanks, knew it wasn't used but didn't know it was actually illegal to use it. Is there a legal and widely available gas that can be used in its place that will not require a retrofit? The vehicle is an 84 FJ60 and i'm in Sydney. Cheers, Simon.

Anyone know if any R12 gas is still available in Sydney? Sorry to all the do gooders who may take offence.

Yes thats right, had a bit of rub on my old truck with 35mtr's, I know 36 tsl's or pedes are quite a bit bigger so will need the extra room. Anyone run these tyres with any of the above mentioned setups? May have to bite the bullet and go SOA.

4'' would be nice, has an OME setup thats only two years at the moment but I guess if I want to keep this suspension my options are fairly limited. I'll check it out.

I already have 2 1/2 in the suspension so what do you suggest for more lift? I would like to get in contact with someone who knows how to get good performance from leaf ...

3 Inch Body Lift - FJ60

Hi all, Just purchased a new 60 and am after some info on a 3 inch body lift. Did a two inch lift on my old truck a couple of years ago and remember everything went pretty smoothly. Plans are to go a little bigger with this one and want to start on the body lift. Anyone fill me in on any major ...

tyres for 95 rodeo

Just wondering if i'll be able to fit a set of 31's under a 95 Rodeo without any mods. Not looking to do any suspension work or body lift on this truck, just want some wider/bigger tyres. Thanks.

2F Exhaust

Can anyone recommend a good size exhaust for the 2F? Stock exhaust is fowling on the 35's so I was thinking of getting it re routed. Want to free up the engine and a bit more power would be nice. 2 1/2 ?
Thanks.

I just finished a 2 inch lift on my FJ60, apart from being sold the wrong length bolts it was pretty straight forward. There should be enough length in brake lines etc. I lowered the radiator by drilling new holes 2 inches below the originals. The only problem I am still having is the transfer case ...

FJ60 body lift dramas

Hi all, I'm having a few problems with my 60 after fitting a 2 inch body lift. As expected the transfer case lever was fouling the floor so I have cut an inch or so out with the angle grinder to compensate. I took it for a test run this morning and even though I am getting low range gearing, there ...

Thanks for the replies, as it happened the tyres won't be in untill next week so I just bit the bullet and did the body lift. 35's on a 60

Just a quick question regarding fitting 35's on my 60. Already have 2 1/2 in the suspension and will be fitting body lift this week, but need to know if I can have the tyres fitted pre body lift (time constraints) if I am just driving around town for the week ie. no offroad, no flexing...

Righto thanks for that, sounds like the extreme trekker 36's are a no go then. I'll probably go the 35'' MTR's, I don't really want to go any bigger than 2'' body lift. Did you run into any major probs with the body lift on yours?

After some advice to do with a two inch body lift on a 60. What is a fair price to pay? I've seen ...

Hi,
I'm after some advice on a good Sydney based 4x4 club to join. looking to do a few day/overnight trips here and there, say within 2-2 1/2 hours drive. Not really interested in touring but looking to find some more challenging terrain. Any advice would be appreciated.

Body Lift

Anyone on the forum know much about them? I've been tossing up the idea of giving a 2'' lift a go on my FJ60 but have decided that i'll probably break something in the process. If anyone knows what there doing and wants to make a bit of cash, let me know. I'm based in Sydney and just want enough ...
