Re: Choosing gear ratio's

I think the fellow outers member maybe on the money!! When I'm home next and have put my gearbox back in, come and have a drive of mine, I think this will help make your mind up. I found the 4.7's a pain in butt for anything other then steep stable rocks. Thats why I went with the duals with 4.7's ...

Help, I need better braking.

I've been building my LN106 Dual cab Hilux for a few years now. One of the mods I've done is a rear disc brake conversion using LN65 calipers, slotted rotors and 80 series master cylinder. The front brakes are standard with slotted rotors. Well I did a full brake test for engineering the other day ...

Re: Flat belly / link mounts crossmember inspiration

[Soon to be made even worse by going from single case with gears to a twin setup which will push the top end of the shaft where it all pivots from a full 6.5" even closer to the crossmember] I would have thought with the extra length of the dual cases would have made it better. As the radius of the ...

Hilux forward shift t case offset.

I'm looking at getting a crawler box from the States to do a dual tcase set up for a LN106 based buggy I'm building. The problem is there is a choice of a 4" off set and a 4.5" offset box. I've search on here and goggle but haven't been able to find out if the Australian forward shift t case has the ...

Hey Oldlux I agree with you.Air to air intercoolers dont work as well in the tropics as water to air. I've tried both on my 2.8 and water to air wins hand down.Especially in build up. I run my radiator behind the cab so it doesnt get glogged with mud. Chat to the old fella at Prem fuel Injection. He ...

The locktup rear springs will move your diff back around 7" when conected to standard front rear mounts.
Maybe you should learn how to weld.
How do you expect to tell the cops that nothing has been changed when the original mounts are still on chassis?

I wasn't taking the piss out of you.I did find your thread funny tho.You cant run 37's with your current set up unless you chop the rear of your cab.Redrilling your perchs will give you 30mm.Which I wouldn't think would be enough to run 37's.I moved mine back 3" to make sure I had room to run 35's ...

16x10rims

I was wondering if 315/75 16 bf km2's will fit properly onto a 16x10 ally rim? Will there be problems keeping beads on the rim when the presures are dropped to 15 to 20 psi?
I did a search but couldnt find anything along the same lines to do with km2's.
Thanks for any answers in advance,Willy.
