You need to remember that the Lock-up on a standard T/700 transmission also has 2 earth over rides in the way of a 4th gear switch and temperature switch which are both attached to the valve body. But if wired up properly should work once the transmission has warmed up and only in 4th gear. Is the ...

With out a doubt the T/700 4 speed overdrive transmission is the best all round automatic transmission that you can fit into any Chevy, Holden or Ford powered 4 wheel drive. It has 30% overdrive for good fuel economy witch also helps the engine last longer because your not reving it so much all the ...

The T/400's are fine. There a very strong transmission but they do have one down fall when used in 4 Wheel Drives, first gear is very tall at about 2.48 - 1 where the T/700 has a first gear ratio of 3.06 - 1 and an overdrive that is .7 - 1 (30% Overdrive ) making up for the fuel consumption. The T ...

I have seen this dropping drive situation before but only on very steep hills, You know! the hill that is so steep that there a bit of a concern before you unleash yourself upon them. It is true that you can safely overfill the T/700 transmission by about 11-15mm and this in most cases is all that ...

Take it from me, there is no use in just building a standard T/700. Don't get me wrong, some will work fine if your just putting around. But if you want your transmission to last, handle towing, 4 wheel driving and also handle V8 engines that have some sort of a power upgrade then you will need the ...

Hi It's Rodney here. Yes it's True that Nissan don't have a part number and the spare parts department have no listing for dip stick on the Nissan GU 5 Speed Auto. That's because Nissan never intended to sell them over the counter. In short I have had a long talk with Nissan about this on more than ...

Hi it's Rodney here from Wholesale Automatics. As Andrew explained the best place to monitor the transmissions oil temperature is as it comes out of the transmission before it gets to the cooler. We fit sender units in most cooler unions but the T/700, T/400 and T/350 unions are to small so we run a ...

Hi it's Rodney here from Wholesale Automatics. All Holden cars fitted with the T/400 used T/350 convertors. Infact most T/400 transmissions run the T/350 size convertor, it's only the U.S imports where you might find the larger T/400 convertor. The T/350 transmission has the vacuum modulator facing ...

Hi Guys it's Rodney here. I had one the other day and could not find what the 16 flashes meant. If it's the carbie model you can't even plug my computer in and extract the codes as there is no interface. What I found was this is the code when the ECU looses all control of the transmission. With ours ...

You Dream It Up And Well Spend Someone Else's Money
It would seem that I have just been given the task of doing the full make over on four ( 4 ) 2003 4.8 Nissan Patrols, 2 of them have the 5 speed auto and the other 2 the manuals. Wholesale Automatics will be handling the modifications to the 5 speed automatic transmissions but I need to do a Full ...

More than likely going to be the transmissions throttle pressure cable being set to tight. Adjust it to 1mm between the tip of the outer cable and the small crushed collet that is on the inner cable. You will need to slip the orange rubber boat of the top of the cable to see what you are doing. See ...

John - It is absolutely essential to get the convertor rebuilt. You might be luck and it could work fine but if the transmission had metal and other deposits then the convertor will to! you don't want it to damage your new transmission. A rebuilt convertor will cost you anywhere from $300-$400 inc ...

The Bolt Pattern is completely different, The input shaft is different. There the same strength internally but the V6 runs a much smaller convertor. The T/400 output shaft has a completely different spline from the T/700, also different bolt pattern on the Extension housing. What are you trying to ...
