Are manualized auto hubs any stronger than auto hubs tho?

I dont really see the point when you can still lock auto hubs to avoid the issue of them unlocking when you dont wish them to.

Unless you like doing 4lo 2wd burnouts of course.

most you wont have to go that far, if you keep it under 130 you wont change the properties of the metal

for bearings those thermostatically controlled deep fryers you can buy are awesome!

You can get upto 900cca from cat in a quite compact size (definatly on the heavy side tho). I cant remember the part numbers but go for the "cat racing" batteries, all maintnance free most without caps. Ive got optima yellow top tho. One could say that in the event of a rollover the optima would be ...

being a smart ass there is actually a difference in size between the smaller trucks (eg 777) and the large ones (785+), below 785 the engines are electrically started and the batteries are 1400cc to suit, while even in a 793 there is only 2x950cca batteries as they only need to run the accessories ...

I did end up using a little bit of oil in the hub, its not exactly easy to get more than a dribble in there! I guess it might be wise to re-oil the hub atleast monthly.

Hub lubrication

Ive just installed some new AVM free wheeling hubs and im wondering what lubrication im meant to put on them? The instructions say they they are permanently lubricated and dont need anything, but i thought id make sure because the last thing i need is to break new parts! So do you guys lubricate ...

(i might be wrong, i havent worked on a qg diesel before) BUT, i'd dare say theres a coolant temp sensor soley for the use of the glowplug timer, and id say either this sensor is u/s or the connector/wiring to it is. Without it, the system dosnt read a temperature, so reverts to the maximum glowplug ...

mk's came with 7.5r16's which measure out as a 32 i believe, so u might get 33's on legally?

but the widest u could get was the 31x10.5's i think, so they'd have to be skinnyish 33s?

suprisngly the nissan filter and the ryco are the same price retail, $30!

And i really didnt like the look of the ryco filter, looking through the top of it i saw a massive amount of glue down the bottom, dont know whats going on there, but it sure didnt give me any confidence in the build quality.

You can get a cav type filter tho, head unit + filter + clear bowl for $70, a bit of replumbing and making a braket to mount it and just totally replace the nissan filter setup with a cav one.

now THATS a hassle

The tap on the bottom of my MQ fuel filter gave up and started leaking everywhere (cracked somehow). Well after a day of searching, no-one makes a tap without the water sensor (that i could find), no-one makes a conversion to run a cav type filter on the sd33 and ryco fuel filters arent worth there ...

With the back seats out a SWB is rather roomy aswell. Ive packed enough gear for 2 guys over a long weekend in mine pretty easily. Hell ive slept in mine a heap of times with the tailgate down, there is a decent amount of room back there.

What i discovered when i was looking for an MK patrol, utes are RARE. When they do come up, they fetch 2k more than a shortie, at minimum.

Arent the early GQ utes basically just an MQ with a td42?

4.6's are too low for 33's. Damn i wouldn't want to drive one with 33's & 4.6's. As an MK driver ive got 4.6's and 31's... it aint that bad aslong as you dont want a top speed over 125, cruising at 110 is pushing it a little, does 100 in 5th fine tho. 4.6's and 33's would have been fine i thought

With an MQ center console, if u put 2 600ml choc milk cartons into the box section, u can also fit a can or stubby in there perfectly and its only going to fall over if u roll it.

Us guys with older nissans need to be a bit more inventive :p

Yeh mine had the loose catches. What happens is the metal in the handle where the loop passes through bends, enlarging the hole, thus a loose catch. I just slipped a nail in the gap, bent it either end so i wont fall out and bang, tight catches again.
