I think my turbo is dying!!

Hi, My turbo was whistling a little before, but now I have a clicking sound when underload. So I am guessing that the turbo will soon die. Anyone had to fork out money for a new turbo before? Just wondering what my options are going to be. Also, if the turbo just stops one day, will I still be able ...

It's true! I have done it to my NG wagon. It stiffens up the rear so you can disconnect the swaybar for more articulation.

I then wound up the front torsions bars and sut the rubbers so that the truck was almost level.

I have had no probs at all. I did have a prob when rego come coz of having no sway bars anymore. I just replaced the shocks as they were stuffed anyways, and they fixed most of the body roll so he passed it without the sway bars.

So go ahead and do the mod! U'll be very happy! I am!!

I put the patrol springs under my NG wagon and got a lift of almost 5 inches. Then wound up the torsion bars and cut the bump stops and got around 3.5 inches at the front. I have done this ages ago and have had no probs whatsoever. Have also removed both swaybars. Recently replaced all shocks, but ...

Hi all, So I'm guessing no one really know's if it will fit as easily as the magna motor? My current v6 is leaking oil like crazy, so rather than have the motor rebuilt, I wanted to just put another one in. I'm trying to find the cheapest way to go. I don't want to spend too much on something that ...

Yes Noisey, the reason why I brought up the idea of using a hyundai v6 was the possibility of it being a cheaper option. I don't have a great deal of options really. It's a 1989 model. No point spending heaps of money on it. So, does any one reckon, that if they are the same motor, the hyundai ...

So is there a reason why no one has tried putting a v6 from a hyundai into a Pajero?

It might also be as simple as putting a magna motor in.

I think a Hyundai motor will fit!

Yes you heard right! I own an NG V6 Pajero and a 1997 V6 Sonata. I have often thought that the two motors looked very similar. I even had to by a part for the NG a couple weeks ago, and it stated on the box that it was also a Hyundai part. Anyways, I just found a site that states that the Sonata V6 ...

website with SOHC V6 tips

I found this website the other day. It's an american site, but it's all about the SOHC V6 that some of us use to power our mighty Pajero's.

Some info is irrelevant, but it does give a lot of info on tuning this motor.

Hi all, I am a pajero owner, and am looking at possibly buying a patrol. I have found a 1998 patrol, it's the current shape i think. 2.8 turbo diesel, which has done around 220 000. they are asking $16 990. Is this an ok price for this car? What should I look out for? Hi all, When I first got my drivers licence, my mates and I used to get cam regrinds on our cars to get more power out of our hillmans, triumphs, etc. It was a great idea and always worked, and they sounded great too. Nothing like a lumpy cam  I am doing the valve stem seals soon, and was ...

Body Lift question

Hi all, I own an NG V6 wagon, and would like to do a body lift. I have already done the suspension lift, by cranking up the torsion bars and fitting GQ springs under the rear. I would like to keep it all legal, which is why I haven't played around with the body lift as yet. I have already read so ...

For all you 3L V6 owners

Hi there, A long time ago I asked here about the idler pulleys that tension the belt for the alternator, etc. Someone replied and stated that they thought that the air con pulley from an EA falcon would work, so long as it has a spacer behind it. Well.... today after many many months of putting up ...

Hey!... is your name Dean too??

I own a LWB NG, and it's the first 4wd I have ever had. I am extremely happy with it! I prob would have got a bigger lift if I had a SWB, but I am more than happy with the lift I got.

You ever come up to newcastle? Maybe we could catch up one day!

Regrading the last couple of comments.... I put GQ springs under mine, but before doing so I made lots of calls to make sure it was all legal, and was told yes. I got a little over 3 inch lift, and was told by the RTA that I'd have to go 5-6 inch to be illegal.

Thanks guys for the help.

I have another question...... Some people cut the bump stops to get more height.. couldn't you just take them off? If cutting is the best way, how much rubber should be left? So far I have wound them up until just before it sits on the stops.

Thanks
