Beg / borrow / steal a copy of the CAMS Manual. All the specs for motorsport rollcages are there - dimensions, materials etc.

Hi Slunnie

What make are the springs? Some OME ones are handed, to take account of the t/case & driver. Possibly other brands from the same manufacturer are the similar.

The firing order is all about the two-plane crankshaft in a V8. To get good balance, the firing order is uneven, which gives the characteristic V8 rumble. Build a V8 on a single plane crankshaft i.e a like a 4 cyl shaft, and you'll get more power coz the manifolds etc can be tuned properly. Race V8s ...

Interchangable in an ermergency. Just keep the nut that goes with the arm, some are a fine thread, some are coarse.

Over the years some seem to be solid, others hollow, different diameters. And I bent my 03 Defender ones. Now have kinked & gusseted custom items.

D/C driveshafts again

Just found these posts http://www.devon4x4.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2680&sid=f35812fe3239abf342796c49727b10a6 http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=5502&st=0 It seems there are more alternatives to the D2 shaft. I like the idea of bolting a d/c up to the standard flange. Regards Max P

How long do the red & yellow top Optimas last?

Coz I can't remember when mine went in. Could be 5 or 6 years ago. How long have they been around?

Now mine aren't quite holding a full charge overnight. Thinking of changing them before winter. Unless anyone has been running these things for longer?

There a heap of bonnet scoops & bonnet vents at Sydney Special Vehicles

ssv.com.au

I put one of theirs on my last car, a backward facing scoop in the low pressure area of the bonnet, to help relieve the underbonnet temps.

Why not just stick a fan on the intercooler?

Look up a tyre chart on a manufacturers website e.g. Mickey Thompson or BF Goodrich. You'll soon work it out from there.

235/85/16 is indeed a skinny tyre. Can't say I've ever seen a 285/35 on a 4WD though, that would have some bling ;-)

Might be worth doing some homework about getting your car registered here i.e. whether a RHD conversion is necessary.

I thought LHD was illegal, but have noticed the occasional yank tank lately wit LHD around Sydney.

A couple of thoughts..

Running an auto? Will it lock up in neutral?

The bigger diameter wheels means of course the rubbing speeds at the pads are less. Talk to EBC & put some softer pads in.

Why do you think the shocks are too short? You're getting exactly the same droop, and the same compression - maybe as bit less if it's coilbound. For the rears, EE also have dropped mounts https://www.expeditionexchange.com/shockmounts/ But then you'll need longer bump stops to prevent the shocks ...
