you can swap in a dana 300 which is right hand drop to match your toyota axle diff you'll need a transmission tailshaft housing off a jeep aw4 and the 4 prong pulse ring to go with it the pulse ring needs to be counter bored to the depth of that of the mitsu pulse ring its pretty soft material any ...

If your draglink is bent you will break tierod ends all day long, been there and done that. Remove it from the rig and check it, alot of times it will bend and come into contact with the diff cover.

Yes the trucks are front sump I see your in the US so look for a ford ranger with the 2.3(4d55) diesel and use its pickup and oil pan, or do a axle swap. :armsup:

from what i've seen early pajero/montero Auto failures are from wrong fluid being used. When you get it rebuilt request they use the mitsu Diamond star ATF(dealer stuff) it is the best for it and it will show in the amount of miles you get out of it.

auto boxes are just smoother with any engine no jerking around and all, there is a guy here that has a chevy 350 V8 and a sm420 4spd which has about a 7:1 first gear ratio that would be a good choice if you were to go manual.

he is still driving it he wants to take it down it to 18 psi with a controller right now he has the wastegate wired shut. says it just lights the tires up on comand. :twisted:

this guy cranked up the boost on his to 21 psi and runs a 13G turbo on his 4d56 and also installed a front mount inner cooler, and turned the pump up half a turn on fuel.

well I know a guy that swapped in a manual steering box from a Trition in to his Pajero NA to use as his idler arm it was a bolt on swap too, No problems with bent idlers anymore.

you'll just need to modify the frame mounts as the US models have a different frame setup, so just take it down to a local welder and you'll be good to go.
