the old troopy 3 inches 35s has to go for many reasons , no back doors, too much overhang, petrol pig, no coils , too top heavy, no bucket seats to name a few .....keeping in mind the fact that my budget,misses, and brain wont let me spend a heap of cash on something i may smash a sill or quarter ...

looking in sydney to buy some 16x8 -34mm or abouts rims sunraysia type steel to fit 6 stud cruiser and i need 6......have rung a few places they are proving harder to get than what i thought ......16x 8 sure there like bums everyone has them in 0 offset but i need at least -30 ....who will have them

the 78s are 85 mm longer from the front eye to the centre bolt i was looking at this and measured up for my troopy....its a fair job to move the rear housing back 85mm .cant be done on a troopy the body gets in the way but on the ute....shock crossmember moved, brake lines extended, tail shaft ...

i put ford nc fairlane buckets in my troopy ...big and comfy adapted them in using toy rails a plate between drilled and bolted ....half a day no engineering required....i even got the comfort approval from the hardest critic....shes now agreed to come with me on long trips says she will sit in it ...

ive looked at this for my 75 troopy and measuring up they wont there appears to be about 85mm difference from the front eye to the centre retaining bolt ....i figured its either bolt them in and move the rear back around 85mm thats a lot of work ...shock mounts ,handbrake cable, brake lines, tail ...

if you havent allready got the motor why not stick a 350 chev in it ...more torque most of the stuff ie power steering pump,ac,alternator is retained in same spot .....and the fuel economy couldnt be any worse

sounds like its the lay shaft ..case hardening is worn off causing whine it will do it from about 80km/h and will get worse/ louder/ more able to hear it at lower speeds the more you drive it thats my bet ......
i dont know where you are mate but the gearbox factory in greenacre sydney will rebuild ...

when my troopy is empty its very hard riding i want to soften the ride someone suggested longer springs and extended shackles ....does anyone make a longer 2 inch lifted spring thats reasoaby soft whereby i can retain my current hangers and diff location and just bolt on the springs and shackles
